PEX 

PEX is used for both gas and water supply. In fact, it is one of the most popular types of water supply pipes. It is made from cross linked high density polyethylene  polymer. It’s flexible nature makes it easy to work with and popular in homes and businesses across Australia. It is freeze breakage resistant and unlikely to corrode or allow scale-build up.

Copper

Cast Iron

Unfortunately, it is prone to clogging which can lead to a build up of deposits that significantly reduce water flow. 

Clay

This type of pipe is a blast from the past. They were mainly installed as sewage pipes about a hundred years ago, and can be uncovered during renovations on old buildings. Whilst clay pipes were actually quite reliable, they are labour intensive and impractical to install.
